About MITS

MITS Singapore was started in 2010 by Michael Baroch, who has coached former World No. 1 and Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova, Wimbledon finalist Mark Phillippoussis, worked with former world no 1 Ivan Lendl and Australian Davis Cup captain Tony Roche and is currently the coach of the Vietnam Davis Cup Team.

MITS Singapore was established with the intention of offering the same high level of coaching expertise, to all ages and standards to Singapore and the Asian region that is available at our Melbourne base in Australia.

MITS is excited to be the tennis provider at AIS and is looking forward to working with the AIS to build the best school program in Singapore.

Our Values

Our values serve as a compass for our actions and describe how we behave in the world. MITS coaches live the values and expect all its clients to abide by our values also;

Accountability: If it is to be, it's up to me

Respect: Respect yourself, respect others

Commitment: Committed in heart and mind

Quality: What we do, we do well

Honesty: To yourself, your family, your coaches

Fun: Enjoy every minute, every session but most of all enjoy the journey

Our Philosophy

1. Develop the Person

Every athlete is a person with their own characteristics, mindsets, attitudes and passions.

Get to know your athletes and identify what motivates them and their most effective way of learning, then set the boundaries and expectations and mould them through processes to achieve their goals.

2. Develop the Athlete

Develop all athletic skills, perception, reception & co-ordination in their early years. As well as balance, movement and overall enjoyment of doing physical activity. Tennis is the byproduct of great Athleticism.

3. Develop the Tennis Player

The Final piece in the puzzle is a result of the two points above. Being a great person and super athlete it’s then a matter of fine tuning all the Technical, Tactical, Physical, Nutritional and Psychological goals of the Tennis Athlete.

Staff

MITS coaches have all been trained in the MITS coaching systems which ensures the MITS philosophy is consistent within all our products.

All MITS coaches have had extensive playing and coaching experience to ensure that all players receive quality and individual feedback.
