Tournament Location: Victoria International School of Sharjah; Al Taawun St - Sharjah

Please note that there is a certain code of conduct and the dress code that students must follow whilst in UAE.

  • Students should not be talking loudly, shouting or playing music etc during prayer time
  • Students are to dress modestly in public areas (shorts are permissible but please bring pants and tops with sleeves)
  • Students are to refrain from posting anything on social media. 
  • Swearing and offensive hand signals will not be condoned at any point.

The UAE is very strict on these rules and regulations. Any misconduct could lead to a fine or deportation.

Leaving Information

What to wear on the plane: All students will have to wear the AIS Sharks Travel to the airport on Wednesday afternoon. 

Flight Details: Students will be missing lessons from Wednesday (lesson 3 onwards - students are to attend lesson 1 & 2) to Monday. Students will be transported to the airport on Wednesday 14 November.

Visa costs and applications are the responsibility of individual families. Click here to find out if your child requires one. Students will be dismissed on the morning of Monday 19 November at AIS Bus Bay. Parents are to arrange their own pick up arrangements.

Students are entitled to 20kg check-in baggage.

It is our pleasure to provide you with some preliminary information on the AISA Games to be held in Dubai in November, 2018. Please scroll down for further tour details.

Important Information

Students are able to tryout and be eligible to play in a maximum of two sports. Please take note of the "Sports Clashes" below.

Sports Clashes

Due to scheduling of the tournament, it is not possible for students to participate in the following combination of sports.

Girls

Basketball & Netball
Netball & Football
Netball & Touch (Day 1) *

*Girls netball & touch can be worked around if students are selected for both teams

Please read: Declarations for each sport

Basketball- one of the courts has a stage sitting next to the sideline. Padding will be placed on the side of the stage to ensure safety of athletes.

Football- fields will be regulation 7-a-side football fields.

Touch- fields will be regulation touch fields.

Swimming- 6 lanes 25 metre pool. Too shallow on one end to tumble turn so athletes will have to touch-turn rather than tumble turn.

Cost : $2600 (includes air and land transport, accommodation, medical and travel insurance and all meals)

Please understand that while the school has approved the tour, it is the student’s and parent’s decision to participate in this tour. There will be some school missed during term 4. Students and parents must decide what is best for their child. We also ask that you consider your commitments to other AIS related activities.

Visa costs and applications are the responsibility of individual families.

We are only able to confirm bookings upon receiving payment from all families. We are unable to provide refunds to families once flights and hotels are paid for.

Tour Gear:

It is compulsory for all students involved to have their tour gear (we recommend students to travel with 2 sharks team t-shirts) on the tour. The Sharks team t-shirts are available for purchase. Please click here to order and all purchases have to be done before Saturday, 18 August.

Year 10

*Note for Year 10 Students and Parents: Please also note that due to the IGCSE Exam Schedule, Year 10 students who have an exam scheduled from the afternoon of Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and/or Friday 16 November are unable to attend. All students who are enrolled in internally run AIS programs are able to attend if selected.

  • Students should have passport with at least 6 months validity
  • Passport & Personal ID card in ziplock bags (Green NRIC if students are not a Singaporean citizen or PR)
  • Visa if required
  • Pocket Money for shopping and other usage (we recommend the equivalent of 50SGD)
  • Medication (if needed) – please pass this to the teacher in charge at the airport

*Liquids must not exceed 1 litre per person

Students from Years 7-9 and some students from Year 10 (see notes below) are invited to attend tryouts for the following teams:

Tryouts

Students must attend both tryout sessions in order to be considered for selection unless communicated prior to the sessions. If you are unable to attend any of the tryout sessions, please email sports@ais.com.sg.
