If a student has a Chinese dialect as their mother tongue, they must study Chinese Heritage/ Mother Tongue in place of a LOTE.
Final placement will be at the discretion of the Head of LOTE/Language B.
*Please note AIS students receive four hours per week of language instruction –far more than most other schools, therefore, our students’ skill levels are quite advanced.
Should new students require additional language support outside of regular class time, staff will endeavour to pair them up with IBDP Year 11 students, who will provide tuition services, free of charge. (Yr 11 students accumulate CAS hours if they tutor.)
