To make the Welcome Day on Monday, 17 July a memorable occasion and to include the whole family in the experience we have designed Day 1 of Term 3 to be flexible and individual. It is set to be an action-packed, fun-filled day with lots of surprises in-store for students and we're so excited about the prospect of actually being in the Early Learning Village for the first time!

How do you book a slot with the teacher?

To ensure that everyone has the chance to explore the building properly and understand the new routines, students and their parents will be meeting with the class teachers in small groups throughout the day. This will give you an opportunity to spend time in your children's classrooms with their teachers and you'll be able to visit all areas of the building, have a chance to ask all the questions you may have and enjoy spending time as a family in the incredible new spaces.

Families must book a time slot in advance for this day through the booking system which can be accessed below - these slots are 50 minutes long. For parents who need their children to be at school all day, all-day care will be provided - you'll just need to indicate that this is required in the notes section on the form when you book your session with the teacher. Please note that current students are required to wear their school uniform during the day.

  • Current parents - click here to login to the booking system to select a session with your teacher (please note that you will need to book separate slots if you have more than one child who is moving into the ELV).
  • New parents - your admissions manager will be in touch with more information about your Welcome Day session.

Where do you need to go?

Please come to the Mezzanine level (1M) of the Early Learning Village at your allocated time to meet your class teacher and start your tour. We will be sending specific details about this nearer the time.

You can get to the Mezzanine level in three different ways, please access the campus via Gate 3 and then choose one of the following options:

  1. Directly via The Bridge from the AIS main campus.
  2. Walking into the main entrance at the Early Learning Village via the Pedestrian Entry and taking the stairs or lift to the Mezzanine level (1M).
  3. Parking in the underground carpark and taking the lift via Lobby C to the Mezzanine Level (1M).
  4. Going to the Drop-Off area of the Early Learning Village and taking the stairs or lift to the Mezzanine level (1M).

What will you be doing?

To ensure that everyone has the chance to explore the building properly and understand the new routines, students and their parents will be meeting with the class teachers in small groups for 50-minute sessions throughout the day and they will visit the following areas together:

  • The classroom, outdoor area and pod
  • The Mezzanine level
  • The three play-decks
  • The Hive

The teachers will also share with you the information regarding the different procedures for drop-off / pick-up and the buses for all students. After the time with the teacher, families can stay at the Early Learning Village for as long as they want to continue exploring and enjoying the new spaces. The building will be closing at 5.00pm.

During the day, students will collect their new school bag, parents will need to get their new Parent Passes from The Hive (information about this is here) and there will be the chance to sign up for CCAs and the Breakfast and After School Club.

For parents who need their children to be at school all day, all-day care will be provided - you'll just need to indicate that this is required when you book your session with the teacher.
